TYPES OF INTERPRETING![]()
Which type of interpreting should I choose?
This is the first question you need to ask yourself if you’re looking for an interpreter. If you have just found out that there are a few different types of interpreting, such as sworn interpreting, consecutive interpreting and simultaneous interpreting, just write to us and we will help you figure out which one will work best for you.
Consecutive interpreting
In consecutive interpreting the speaker stops their speech after rendering a complete thought for the interpreter to interpret what has been said. It’s most commonly used in business meetings and other important meetings.
Simultaneous interpreting
Simultaneous interpreting is performed through interpreting equipment (microphone, booths, earphones). The client hears the translation in real time. It’s used in conferences, training and other events with a large number of participants.
Sworn interpreting
Sworn interpreting is performed by an interpreter appointed by the Ministry of Justice, who confirms the performance of their job with their official stamp. It’s most often used in the case of hearings at court or notaries or, for example, weddings.
